Frank Vilorio was introduced to waterfowl hunting in the late 60’s when his dad Frank Sr. would take him to Northern Mexico to hunt Snow Geese and Sandhill Cranes in the Cuauhtemoc and Casas Grandes areas with the Mennonites.  Frank took what he learned from the Mennonites and implemented it to duck hunting here on Elephant Butte Lake.

He became very knowledgeable in concealment tactics with blinds and surrounding terrain which has helped his duck hunting clients be successful on their waterfowl hunts.  Frank is also skillful in using duck calls and placing decoys in open water.  He is known as New Mexico’s premier duck hunting guide and one of the best on Elephant Butte Lake.

The low water levels at Elephant Butte Lake has created a very good waterfowl habitat for Mallards, Pintails, Gadwalls, Wigeons, Canvasbacks, Redheads, Ringnecks, Shovelers as well as Canadian Honkers and Sandhill Cranes.
